Wow! What a wonderful Mother's Day! It was my first Mother's Day being a mom and it was not like I expected at all. I was telling my cousin Amanda (also a new mom) that I really wasn't expecting it to feel different than any other day, but it sure did. It was kind of emotional, just feeling so blessed and so happy to be Eli's mama. I know God picked me and Chris to take care of him and be his family, and we are trying our best not to let him down! He is such a sweet boy and we pray every day that we don't ruin him ;)
There is a song on the radio now and the lyrics have really gotten to me lately and reminds me so much of Eli and how I feel about him (obviously not every single word, it is a "love song" after all).
"All Of Me"
John Legend
[Chorus:]
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh
Our Mother's Day was busy and FUN!!!
How could the day not be great when you wake up to this sweet and happy boy?!
We went to lunch with Chris' family (Chris is actually out of town, so it was just me and Eli).
Uhhhhh Mother's Day?! Why didn't anyone tell me?!
Pop-Pops and Eli
Then we went to G's house to grill burgers and celebrate Mother's Day and G's birthday! It was so much fun, nice and relaxing.
Me and my baby. We were really pushing it here, he had been woken up from his nap and was NOT ready for pictures ;)
G and Eli. So sweet!
Papa T teaching Eli how to grill burgers!!
Eli helping G open her birthday present =)
Aunt Kacy and Eli! These 2 people right here take up a large percentage of my heart!!
Finally got it!
Grammy and Eli playing =)
Eli LOVED the trees. He probably would have stayed out there all day.
Of course he wanted her drink!!
Being a mom has also made me that much more thankful for my mom and everything she has done and continues to do for me. She has always taken such good care of me, and now that has spilled over to my new little family as well. So thankful for her!

You are an amazing Mommy!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kacy!!! =)
ReplyDeleteLove! Eli fits so perfectly into y'all's family. Looks like everyone is smitten with him! I love the picture of him trying to get your moms drink... Something about babies and beer! :)
