Well, it's been a while since I've blogged and a LOT has happened! We moved houses and I started my new job as a stay at home mom (Aug 17th)! It has been a huge change, but I am loving it! I love getting to spend so much time with Eli and not being in such a rush all.the.time. One of my favorite things about staying home with him is I really getting to see all his little personality traits and quirks. I wanted to get a few of them down in this blog so I don't forget them!
- Eli is in a "what's that" phase right now. Big time. But it comes out as "waaaas daaaat" which as much enthusiasm as he can muster. And a pointed finger. I feel like this is a precursor to the "why" phase haha
- When he wants you to come with him, he says "mon" (come on) and gestures for you to come. It's hilarious. If that doesn't do the trick, he comes over and grabs your finger and lifts you up.
- Trucks. Trucks. Trucks. This is probably his favorite word right now and he says it all the time. Anything on wheels is a truck (including cars). We took him to the local fair the other day and he did the truck ride and was so happy. He went to bed talking about trucks that night.
- He says "din, din" for "again"
- Aunt Kacy got him is very own junior "dat-un" (vacuum). He is so funny pushing it all around the house, lifting things up and vacuuming under them.
- "Counting" - when you ask him to count something, he just says "twoooo" several times in a row haha. He's so proud of himself too.
- When Chris or I am tickling him, he says "no no da" or "no no mama" - it's so adorable
- Words that start with "h" get the h dropped off. Food is "ot" (hot), he wants to wear his "at" (hat), trunks go "oonnnkk" (honk)
- "Dinny" - every meal we eat is "dinny" (dinner)
- When he's puzzling, he intentionally puts the piece in the wrong place and says "nooooo" with the exact same tone in his voice that I use.
- Aunt Kacy (which Eli is now saying as Cici) gave Eli her Mickey Mouse piggy bank from when she was a kid. He instantly loved it and loooves putting money in it. She and Grammy and G have spoiled him with it so much, that any time one of them comes over, he runs to their purse and points and says "money, money" hahaha. Guess he gets that from his accountant mama ;)
- Eli loves bunnies right now. But it is a "bun-nay" every time. It's so funny!
- He also loves reading books in the car. As soon as we get in, he asks for books. And he gives it some serious concentration. However, he still finds time for some car commentary. When we make a turn, he says "weeeee" and if we stop really short, he says "uh oh" or "woooooah"
- He loves to "wing" (swing). Either on his playset or the way Papa T does it.
- When we're sitting on the floor, he comes over to us and pushes us and says "oh noooooo" which means we're supposed to fall over.
- He loves "dip, dip, dip" (anything he can dip his food into, thanks go Grammy and Aunt Kacy)
- When you're sitting on the couch, he wants to get "inay" which for some reason, means behind you and for you to squish him. "din" and "din" haha
- He says "bye" or "bye bye" to everything. "Bye bye trucks," "bye bye books," bye bye everything. He will go into another room and say "bye bye" and close the door.
And because it wouldn't be a complete blog without some pictures, here are some of my favorites over the last few weeks.
Being silly with Aunt Kacy...she brings him "prizes" pretty much every time she comes to see him =)
Trying out the rocking horse Papa T made for the grands. Isn't it beautiful. He did such a great job!
Reading with Aunt Kacy
Tough day of chores...
My boys!
Eli rode the "trucks" at the fair. He loved it! I feel like he looks so big driving this car!
4 wheeling with Papa T
Driving Daddy's car....I'm starting to see a theme here with the vehicles
Looking for his money =)
