Ian turned 8 months old a couple of weeks ago (7/6/16)! It seems like every month, by the time I get it down that he's x months old, it's time to turn the next month! I even titled this post 'Ian Turns 7 Months' before I noticed on the pictures it was 8! Crazy! He is really growing and changing every day. He is laughing, babbling and playing so much now, and he is getting around all over the place! He is such a joy! He also has a little bit of an ornery side that is starting to come out too (I have NO idea where he gets that!). It is so fun to see his little personality come out and how things are similar and different from Eli. Here are a few notes from this month:
- He tried several new foods, including apples, squash, green beans and various others. There has not been anything he tried that he didn't like. I think he's an eater!
- Shortly after he turned 7 months, he was sitting up with no assistance from his hands
- 6/16 he started crawling!
- Mid month, he started to really babble a lot more. Prior to that he had been pretty quiet. But he is getting his talk on now! And his squeal! We call it the "dolphin" talk because it's such a high pitch squeal, LOL!
- His hair is starting to thicken up a little bit now
- On 6/24 he was babbling and we were trying to get him to say mama or dada and he was really trying to repeat it back. Of course he didn't get mama, but he did say something that sounded like "dada"
- He got his first double ear infection this month...poor baby! He really was such a trooper though. He would just hold/rub his ears and moan and was a little fussier than normal. He was waking up some during the night, which he normally doesn't do and he was having trouble napping. When he woke up, he would just be laying in there moaning, it was so sad!
- On 6/29, I laid him in his crib and Kacy was over here, so we were just sitting in the living room chatting and playing with Eli. I looked over at the monitor a second later and he was sitting up in his crib! That's the first time he has sat up by himself from laying down.
- We tried some puffs with him this month, and he wasn't quite ready yet. He couldn't quite get them to his mouth, and when I put one in there for him, he didn't really know what to do. I don't think it will be too long though.
- This month he started reaching his arms up for you when you walk over to him! It's just so sweet and irresistable!
- Weighs *around* 20 pounds
- He nurses 4 times per day (sometimes 5) and gets solids twice a day usually (still purees).
- He is just such a HUGE HEART!!!! He looks at me with those sweet blue eyes and I just melt.

This kid has no idea how sweet he is and what a joy he is!!!
