Eli-Isms Volume V

Eli has been saying some really funny (and some really sweet) things lately. Here are some of the Eli-isms from late:

  • He told me the other day "You're the best kiddo, mama"
  • He also told me "I love you best the way you are mama"
  • His new thing is "Follow me Ian" all the time!
  • He still LOVES cars. Any and all. We play cars multiple times a day, they sleep on his bookshelf and he takes them everywhere we go. The other day we were fixing one of his cars and when we were done he said "You're cleared to race!"
  • He called his shorts "short pants" the other day. It was so funny!
  • He knows how to play it up a little bit now when he gets in trouble. "Don't take away my toys, it's not very nice" or "don't be mad mama, be happy" etc. It's so hard to stay mad when he says stuff like that!
  • I said "night night sweetheart" and he said "Night night sweetheart mama"
  • The other day he said "Easy squeezy." I asked him who taught him that and he said "Goofy"
  • If you ask him something he doesn't really know he will say "you talk about that mama"
  • I got him up from his nap one day and he said: "I cried in my bed for 40 days mama!" (and he was not even crying LOL)
  • Chris had a box of nails out one day working and Eli said "what's daddy doing with those tire pops?!" Everything relates back to cars.
  • Sometimes when you tell him something he will say "I don't believe it! It's hard to believe."
  • He heard Chris call me "honey" the other day and I was in the other room so he says "Honey, honey badger?!" to get me to come in there.
  • When we are driving, he is checking out all the cars on the road. "Look at that cool car!!" "what's it called?" "I love that car, it's my favorite!" etc.
  • If I suggest something he will say "That's a good idea mama"
  • I was putting to bed one night and he grabbed my hands to his chest and says "don't leave mama, stay with me." My heart literally just melted.
  • We were driving in the car one day and he said "I don't wanna listen to music any more, I wanna chill out." I said "You wanna chill out?" He said "I wanna chill in."
  • I was driving one day and Eli said "Ian's just sitting here looking out the window. He's doing great back there" LOL!
  • He said "I always try my best" the other day. Must be from a tv show!
  • He got hurt the other day and said "Ouch! But I'm tough. We don't need to cut it off cause I'm tough."
  • He got into a phase for a while where everything was "All by myself"
  • He told Chris "Ay ya captain daddy" the other day.
  •  I went to get him out of bed one morning and I said "good morning Mr. Monkey" to one of his "babies" and Eli said "he doesn't talk"
  • We have always put one baby and one blanket in his bed at night. Lately, he has been "sneaking" more and more babies into his bed, thinking we don't notice. So he has tons of babies in his bed every night now. It's so sweet.
  • He says he is going to "handle this for now" when he wants to hold stuff
  • He used to call me "mama" all the time, then he switched one day to "mommy" then one day he just randomly started calling me "mama" again. Every once in a while he will try out "mom" (which is way to big for me!) and lately has started trying "Tory" which is so funny but obviously we can't let him.
  • His favorite shows right now are Blaze, Umi Zoomi and The Cars Movie.
  • I was tucking him in one night and I said "I'm a lucky mama." He immediately said "No! I'm a lucky Eli!"

  1. These are so great, hahaha! "he doesn't talk". HAHA! He's very literal! A couple of my favorites lately: When you tell him something really fast, or include a word he doesn't know he says, "What did you just say?" It's extra funny because it sounds like he's a parent and he's talking to his disobedient kid who made a snide remark behind his back. However, he's meaning it quite literally - he wants you to repeat/explain the words that are speaking. Haha! And the other day were outside and there was a tiny breeze and he said "Suuuuuuuure is windy." Oh, and when he was at my house the other day running down the driveway he called it the 'rocky cliff' - Let's run down the rocky cliff!!! Where does he get these things?!?
