Well, Ian turned a year old on the 6th! I just really can't even believe it. I have been sorting through his monthly pictures for the boys birthday party and I can't believe how much he's grown and changed. I have been a bit emotional about it. I know it sounds silly, but I was so worried when I was pregnant with him about our lives changing, Eli's life changing and him not getting as much attention, and all the other worries you have when pregnant with #2. I wish I could go back and tell myself to stop worrying, that everything would be fine, and actually even better than I could have imagined. Yes, it was definitely an adjustment, but he has meshed right in with our family and Eli absolutely loves having a little brother to push around play with! He has just been such a joy to us, I can't even describe it. Enough with the mushy stuff, here are some pictures and tidbits from Ian's 12th month!
- He starting saying "hi" this month
- On 10/15 he started cruising a little and since then has been cruising A LOT!
- On 10/20 he started crawling off his belly (no more army crawl). However, if he gets in a big hurry, he drops back down and takes off on his belly. He is much more efficient that way!
- On 10/25 he got tubes put in his ears. He did great and has really seemed to "come alive" even more since then!
- He likes to give head butts to show his affection, especially to Daddy
- On 10/22 he got his top middle right tooth and on 11/2 he got his top middle left one, so he has 4 total now
- 11/3 said "mama" !!!! Finally! He won't really say it when I want him to, but he will say it when he wants me to come get him out of bed. They told me at Sunday School this past week that he crawled to the door and was saying "mama" (melt my heart)
- On 11/3 he started walking a little bit behind his walker. He's up to quite a few steps at a time now
- 11/4 said "uh oh"
- When we play cars, he does this cute little vroom vroom noise (it sounds more like a growl)
- He still LOVES to eat, but has learned to pick around veggies and throw what he doesn't want on the ground
- He sleeps from around 7:30-7:30 most nights, takes a great morning nap (1.5-2 hours) and still struggles with a consistent afternoon nap
- He is *around* 24 pounds and in size 12 month clothes, size 4 diapers
- We are nursing twice a day now (morning and night) with a sippy cup of frozen breastmilk at lunch. We will wean down to once and then no more nursing in the next couple of weeks. I am so sad thinking about it, but I know it's time for us.
Looking pretty cute for church on his big day :)
We didn't technically celebrate his birthday yesterday since the boys party will be next weekend, so standby for pictures of the party fun!
This sweet boy needs to stop growing up so fast!!! He's the sweetest thang!
