Ian's First Baby Food!

Our doctor recommended we wait until Ian was 6 months old to try and start baby food. They say their little tummies and digestive systems just aren't developed enough until then. So we waited. I was excited to try them sooner, but it was REALLY fun to start them now because you could tell he was ready and he was SO into it! He absolutely loved it. We started with ground up oatmeal and did that for a few days, then moved on to avocado, then carrots, then sweet potatoes. He loved each one more than the last. We started a few weeks ago (5/9/16) and he gets them once a day for right now. He has started banging his hand on the tray when he's ready for another bite - HA! I have to say, I think eating is his favorite activity right now for sure.

Ready for his first meal!

He kept his eyes on that spoon at all times!

He really wanted to get his hands on it!

I couldn't add the video of his very first bite because it was too big, but here is one on the first day. He started out a little bit slow, but then got into it so quickly! He kept leaning forward and opening his mouth for more! I was really surprised at how much he ate! I don't think he would have stopped if I hadn't made him!

This is a little video of him just a couple of days ago banging his hand when he's ready for more. It just cracks me up! They catch on so quickly!

  1. His eyebrows going up in the first video, haha! And him banging on the tray is HILARIOUS!! You won't have to teach him the "more" sign language. He's already made up his own!
